Aya Matsumoto

Aya Matsumoto leads brand management as the director of program growth and development for EWG Verified®. She started her career at EWG as an intern, in 2013. Aya hails from Southern California, where smog and annual wildfires taught her very early to pay attention to the environment.

Aya has helped grow the EWG Verified program, which drives the marketplace toward a safer, more transparent standard and helps consumers to make more informed decisions about the products they use. By working directly with companies and manufacturers, Aya and the EWG Verified program facilitate consumer access to products that meet EWG’s strictest standards for health and transparency.

Aya graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. Fun fact: Aya grew up doing competitive gymnastics on horseback!
