Lauren Sweet Duffy, Ph.D.

Lauren Duffy leads EWG's Verified program, bringing more than 15 years of expertise in environmental toxicology and safer chemistry. She is committed to developing science-based standards that help shift the marketplace and advance EWG's mission to help people find safer products wherever they shop.

Before joining EWG, Lauren led chemical reviews for the Environmental Protection Agency's Safer Choice program. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and a Ph.D. in environmental toxicology from Clemson University. Outside of work, she's busy corralling three young children while surviving on coffee and chaos.
