Emily Bryson, MPH
Emily Bryson leads California’s regulatory policy efforts to protect public health using her expertise in exposure science, environmental health and policy, with a focus on pesticides, environmental contaminants and food additives. She is dedicated to building a healthier future where Californians are empowered with access to clear, science-based information, and to fighting for regulations that prioritize health, accountability and prevention.
Before joining EWG, Emily worked for the California Department of Pesticide Regulation, where she led occupational pesticide exposure studies, developed regulations to reduce exposure risk and coordinated policy with other regulatory entities.
She also worked for the Food and Drug Administration assessing the safety of implantable medical devices and for other organizations focusing on reducing exposure to pesticides and other contaminants. In her free time, Emily loves to cook, read and do “messy science” with her daughter and husband.
